Our Flat Tappet Replacement Kit is created to most easily and economically replace decades old flat tappet cam designs while providing noticeable gains in performance and efficiency. They are intended for Mercruiser, Crusader, Volvo, OMC, and other brands based on the GM 7.4L / 454ci / BBC engine, generally found in midsize performance and heavy cruising boats, as well as specialized industrial applications.
Our camshafts are manufactured from a solid billet core using the latest in precision CNC machining technology. This provides the ultimate in consistent adherence to the designed specifications and duplication.
These cams allow for using modern day oils without concern of adequate zinc content, break-in period, and post break-in valve train adjustments.
Our camshafts are designed to optimize a balance of HP, broad mid-range torque, efficiency, idle quality, and longevity, while maintaining OEM fuel systems and octane recommendations. They also maintain most original part specs while upgrading only the necessary roller cam related parts, and those parts normally recommended in a standard re-build.
